Charles Mwewa's, The System

chapter 6: Uncommonness Makes History

Willingness to upset Status Quo

In any of the quadrants you may be located, only people who dare think and behave differently from the norm or status quo make and write history in The System. Contrary to everyday assumptions that normalcy leaves legacies, only those dare to change status quo and make history. If you adhere to status quo you will be a good citizen, but you will not change or make history.

The reason why everything remains the same is because everyone is thinking the same usual. It is not possible to get different results if you continue to do the same things all the time. It is not possible to innovate and bring change if you keep to the same traditions, either.

Fearlessness

To change and accelerate in life, in any quadrant in The System, you ought to fear nothing, except God. You must embrace challenges and attempt new things. You cannot move or relocate, for example, from the Grinders to Maintainers or from the Maintainers to the Makers, without doing things differently from the way they do it in your quadrant.

Fear kills hope and faith. Fear makes it impossible to change quadrants. Those who are fearful, will not have the necessary courage to confront patterns that have not performed or to attempt to change The System and make it palatable and accessible and user-friendly to all. Fear will prevent you from doing basic things or taking baby steps towards great accomplishments. Fear will keep you where you are and relegate you to servanthood or slavery. It will stagnant your natural force and keep you away from the greater purpose. It will tell you to keep quiet and lie to you that you moment is either not yet ready or that you have passed your prime. Fear is the first greatest enemy of your building a brad, and agenda for real change.

Turning liabilities into assets

What we call history are the stories of people who did things differently from those of the standards around them. History is the record of those who failed, and rose up again; those who lost everything, and regained; those who went to prison, and used prison to change lives; those who had no means, but did everything they could to make a good life for themselves and others; those who confronted injustices heard on, even if it cost their own lives; those who advocated on behalf of the weak and vulnerable; those who stood up for the rights of the minority, the disenfranchised, the marginalized, the accused, the poor and the disabled. Those who did or said things which were “abnormal” or contrary or controversial to the contemporary norms at the time.

These people do make history!

The general rule is that do everything not to offend, not be disciplined, not to be blamed, not to be arrested or imprisoned, not to be shamed or despised, not to be ignored or rejected, not to be held criminally responsible, not to be labelled as traitor or abuser or deranged, not to be found wanting, and so on. However, if any of the above happens or have happened to you due to the fault of not your own or even due to your own fault or omission, do not be diminished. History is made by people exactly like these – people who defiled their own short-comings to emerge and conquer. You will make history if your disadvantages, weaknesses and misgivings become your assets for greatness.

Do not despise your birth, upbringing, color of your skin, disabilities, height or weight, your name or your nationality. Do not look down or allow others to look down upon your past or present or future. Do yourself a favor, believe that history is made by people who did not have everything as demanded by society. It is made by those who, despite their own weaknesses, took on giant steps to silence all negative voices and move forward.

You can redefine your quadrant or relocate to the highest quadrant in The System despite your frailties, failures and hindrances. Use your negatives to create a positive outcome. To do so, accept your weaknesses, and them ignore their negative connotations and implications. Look, instead, to what can be done with the negatives to harvest a bountiful yield. Adversity breakers are history makers
